Crochet hexagon

Circle, square, hexagon… crochet gives us the possibility to make geometrical shapes with the touch of our hands. Using only one colour or combining them you can create beautiful shapes to make what you want. Here you have the instructions to make an hexagon.

Abreviations: ch=chain, dc=double crochet, sc=single crochet, st=stitch(es), yoh=yarn over hook.

Slip Chain: To close the rounds of circles or squares - pass hook over stitch (or chain), yarn over hook and pull hook through stitch (or chain).

BLUE YARN

- Make an 8ch. circle and close it with a slip chain, forming a ring.

- 1st R: Make 1ch and 12sc around the ring, using the hole to make the sc stitches. When you end the round, close it with a slip chain.
- 2nd R: Make 4ch and 1dc over every sc (you have to do 12 dc). Between every dc make 1 ch.

RED YARN- Bubble Stitch (A New Stitch!!)
- *Pass hook through hole and yarn over hook. Pull yarn through hole. Yarn over hook again (you have 2 loops on hook), pass hook over hole and repeat 3 more times. You have 5 loops on hook. Then pass loop over hook and pull it through all loops*. You have to work in a loose way to make the bubble stitch. Make 2ch and repeat ** in the next hole.

- Make 2ch and a slip chain to close it.

PINK YARN

- Make 3 double crochet and 2ch, 3dc and 2ch… until you finish with all the holes.

(!)

BLUE YARN

- Make a 5ch and in the next hole (corner) *3dc, 2ch, 3dc* 2ch and 3dc in the next hole (side hole)

In the corner holes make 3dc 2ch 3dc

In the sides holes make 2ch 3dc 2ch

RED YARN (BORDER)

- Make a sc border. At the corner make 2sc in the same st, and 2sc in the next stitch.

(!) Variation: As you can see, you can make a circle instead of a hexagon if you don’t do the steps on BLUE YARN.

    Thank you

Martha, when I say 2ch it means you have to make a chain passing yarn over hook twise.
The same when I say 3dc: it means you have to make 3 double crochet, one after the other.

Thank you, maybe you question help the other readers to clirify.
